The man took out his wallet, extracted two dollars and asked, "If I gave you this money, will you take it and buy whiskey?"
"No, I stopped drinking years ago," the bum said.
"Will you use it to gamble?"
"I don't gamble. I need everything I can get just to stay alive."
"Will you spend the money on greens fees at a golf course?"
"Are you NUTS! I haven't played golf in 20 years!"
The man said, "Well, I'm not going to give you two dollars. Instead, I'm going to take you to my home for a terrific dinner cooked by my wife."
The bum was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty bad."
The man replied, "That's OK. I just want her to see what a man looks like who's given up drinking, gambling, and golf."

They had tried everything and everyone else to get the machine to work but to no avail. In desperation, they called on the retired engineer who had solved so many of their problems in the past.
The engineer reluctantly took the challenge. He spent a day studying the huge machine. At the end of the day, he marked a small "x" in chalk on a particular component of the machine and stated, "This is where your problem is".
The part was replaced and the machine worked perfectly again.
The company received a bill for $50,000 from the engineer for his service. They demanded an itemized accounting of his charges.
The engineer responded briefly:
- One chalk mark $1
- Knowing where to put it $49,999
It was paid in full and the engineer retired again in peace.

Fox has really been turning up the heat lately, that holds ever true with their latest series Human Target. Human Target is based on a comic book character of the same title, although very loosely based it still does bare some resemblance. Human Target does quite a few different things with its story and characters and it does them well.
The series Human Target is about a character named Christopher Chance who is played by Mark Valley. Christopher Chance is bodyguard and security expert who is paid by private clients for protection. This entails a wide variety of tasks and sets the perfect stage for some quality action and fun explosions! Christopher Chance always puts himself on the line to find the truth behind every mission; regardless of the consequences!
I first saw this show at work after the company decided to get one of the direct tv business packages offered in my city. The story is progressing nicely and continues to be filled with action. The main draw to the serious seems to be simple action, with comic book style fun. There are a lot of explosions, fighting and gun play.
There are also underlying elements of drama in the series Human Target. The drama tones do not seem to fit the series, like the main character Christopher Chance. Luckily Mark Valley does an outstanding job at adapting to the script and the writing, making the drama inserts successful although seemingly unnecessary. Human Target is a great entry from Fox into the Action/Drama branch of television and should not be overlooked by fans of those genres!

Startled, the man jumped back and ran down the road until he met a farmer. The amazed man told the farmer his story.
"Was it a large red cow with a brown spot over the right eye?" asked the farmer. "Yes, yes," the man replied.
"Oh! I wouldn't listen to Bessie," said the farmer. "She doesn't know a thing about cars."
